Until late 1984 when they made contact with the outside world for the first time, Warlimpirrnga and his family lived a traditional nomadic life. His paintings of the Tingari and other Dreamings are made up of intricate, wavering dotted lines of one colour on a contrasting background, creating a trancelike effect.
