Waterhole Art is owned and run by the two managing partners, Jenny Hillman and Suzie Spira.
Jenny Hillman has had a long history of involvement in the arts. Her career started with studying Fine Art at Sydney University and then a job at Hogarth Galleries, followed by many years of art dealing and owning her own gallery. One of the highlights of those years was holding the first International works on paper auction at Geoff K Gray. Following this came many years of a long career in public art, and placing works in corporate and private collections.
Suzie Spira has owned businesses culminating in her directorship of Capitol Interiors, a fit out company which included hotel and lobby art installations.
Waterhole Art was established in 2002 and sources community artworks in annual trips to communities in Northern Territory, Western Australia and Arnhem Land. One of the main activities of Waterhole Art is to hold two annual shows to benefit the Indigenous Scholarship Fund which endows scholarships to Indigenous students wishing to undertake medical studies at university.
